The Stillwater Program
For the dogs everyone else gave up on.
BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION - BY CONSULTATION · JACKSONVILLE, NC
If you are here, you may already be exhausted. The lunging on walks, the barking that will not stop, the fear that turns into teeth, the anxiety that empties a room. We built the Stillwater Program for exactly this moment, and for exactly these dogs.

We cannot promise miracles. We can promise the time, the patience, and the expertise that genuine change requires.
For most families, that is what no one else offered.
This is not obedience. It is deeper.
THE APPROACH
Behavioral challenges such as anxiety, reactivity, fear, and aggression are not obedience problems, and they cannot be drilled away with commands. They live beneath the behavior, in your dog’s state of mind, and that is where the Stillwater Program works. Over three months as a board and train, we give your dog something no shorter program can, the time to build a genuinely new baseline of calm.
Your dog develops a full obedience foundation while we work patiently through the emotional patterns driving the behavior, day after day, until a new normal takes hold. At the center of it all is teaching your dog to settle, to find the off switch that fear and overstimulation have taken away.
Stillwater is not a metaphor we chose lightly. Calm beneath the surface is the entire goal.
We do not watch the clock
OUR PROMISE
We have never rushed this work, and we never will. If our trainers determine that your dog needs more time to reach a lasting result, the program continues at no additional cost. Results are the goal, not the calendar, and we do not return a dog before the work is done.
Close, even through the hardest work
THE EXPERIENCE
Behavioral work can feel like a long road, so we keep you close to it. You see your dog every day through photos and video, and every week brings a Saturday phone update.
Because the Stillwater Program runs across three months, it includes written progress updates at the end of month one, the end of month two, and near the end of month three, so you always understand where your dog stands. Once your dog has settled in for two full weeks, you are welcome to visit on Saturdays between ten and twelve, beginning in week three.
At graduation you receive a detailed home management plan, because behavioral results depend on consistency once your dog returns to you. You also receive a bound training manual, a complete record of your dog’s stay, and a graduation certificate, along with three complimentary day care days in your first year and our support for the life of your dog.
It begins with an honest conversation
BY CONSULTATION
Because every behavioral case is different, and because not every dog is a candidate for every path, enrollment always begins with a behavioral assessment. That conversation is where we hear the whole history, understand your dog fully, and tell you honestly what is possible. We will never sell you a program your dog is not right for.
The Stillwater Program is for families in Jacksonville, Camp Lejeune, and Wilmington who are facing something real and are committed to real change. If that is you, the assessment is where it starts, at no cost and no obligation.
Because we limit our Behavioral cases per year, if we cannot assist you, we will recommend a local trusted trainer we believe in.

BEFORE YOU COMPARE US
A quick fix
was never going to fix this.
Behavioral struggles are not obedience problems, and you cannot drill them away in two or three weeks. Most programs are not built for this, and many trainers will not take these dogs at all. If you have been turned away before, that is why.
The Stillwater Program was built for the hard cases. Three months, because a new baseline of calm is grown, not installed, and it takes time. We work beneath the behavior, at the state of mind, every day, until calm becomes your dog’s default rather than their exception. That is not a service most trainers are willing to offer.
And we do not watch the clock. If your dog needs more time, the program continues at no additional cost, because the goal is a result, not a deadline. We would rather do this once, completely, than rush it and hand you back the same problem.
We will always be honest with you about what is possible, because false hope helps no one. But if your dog has been written off by everyone else, you have not run out of options. You have simply found the one program built for this.
